Do you play, sing or drum in a way that pulls people in? Do kids end up dancing when you start? Have you ever handed a toddler a shaker and watched them take over the song?
Then we'd love to hear from you.
At Dum Tak, musicians don't perform for young children. They make music with them. You'll bring live music into early-learning centers, schools, healthcare settings and community spaces across Greater Boston. A call becomes a response. A steady beat becomes everyone's beat. By the end, every child in the room is part of the band.
Every instrument, every voice, every tradition is welcome: classical, jazz, folk, hand drums, world music, and whatever you grew up singing.
We offer both. We'll always tell you which before you say yes.
Because you'll be with young children, Dum Tak runs a CORI background check for every musician before their first session.
Our sessions happen in shared spaces: classrooms, waiting rooms, libraries, parks. Families, staff and partners often take photos and video, and we can't control that. Dum Tak may also photograph or film sessions to share our work. Please sign up only if you're comfortable being photographed. You'll confirm both on the form.
