When orchestral music begins, there is often a moment — just seconds in — when we, including my children, become fully present; attention sharpens. It is a moment where music starts to happen within us and amongst us; music is powerful. It is communication, learning, and emotional regulation. Music is connection.
Dum Tak puts live music within arm's reach. Community artists and families share rhythm, sound and movement together, in the places where children already learn, play and gather.

A note from the founder
I'm an architect and healthcare facilities planner — I've spent more than 15 years designing and managing large-scale construction projects. My work has always been about how physical systems shape human experience.
Dum Tak started because I noticed the same kind of gap in early childhood; the infrastructure for consistent, high-quality experience just isn't there. Watching my own kids learn rhythm before language, I saw how much was riding on something as simple as access to live music — and how little of it reaches most families.
Dum Tak isn't a performance series. Dum Tak is designed to make rhythm and live music a reliable part of early childhood environments, not an occasional treat.
